Our Partners

The ArmWool project brings together a diverse group of partners across several countries, each contributing unique expertise to revive Armenia’s wool value chain. From Armenia, key partners include HDIF (project lead), TIFC (product development and blockchain integration), Arpi Women’s Development Foundation (community mobilisation), Amasia Municipality, WoolWay (ethical dyeing and weaving), and Rug Code (carpet-making and design innovation). AHA Collective leads artist residencies and cultural storytelling. Internationally, experts from Armenia, the Netherlands, and England have provided training in shearing, spinning, sorting, and wool processing. Financial and strategic support came from the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, which enabled the creation of the spinning centre in Amasia, and the CirculUP! Project — funded by the European Union in Armenia and led by the Impact Hub Network, Impact Hub Yerevan, and Environment and Health NGO, which provided critical mentorship and visibility for circular economy integration.

“ArmWool is more than a wool project — it’s a way to empower rural women, reduce waste, and reconnect with our roots. Each strand of yarn carries a story of resilience and revival.” — Ani Mkrtchyan, Project Lead Arm Wool

“We’ve seen firsthand how this project uplifts our women. With each training and every spin of wool, they’re gaining skills, confidence, and community.” — Aghunik Hazryan, Director, Arpi Women’s Development Foundation

“Ethical shearing and clean dyeing are often overlooked in the value chain. ArmWool gave us a chance to prove that sustainability and quality can go hand in hand — from sheep to loom.” — WoolWay Studios cofounder  Hayk Oltaci
